A furnace’s appearance and function are things that most people are familiar with, but unless you specialize in furnace installation or have been
onsite while your home or business’s furnace was installed, the installation process is probably something of a mystery.
So how does the furnace installation process work? Here’s a breakdown:
Prior to installation, the experts at Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating will work with you to make sure you pick the right-size furnace for your home.
We’ll review the size of your home, examine the ductwork and installation, and recommend a furnace that will deliver maximum comfort, efficiency, and
cost-savings. Gas furnaces in particular are a terrific choice because they’re reliable, clean, and offer big savings on your gas bill.
As with any project involving a contractor, insurance and background checks are essential. We’ll furnish all of our credentials ahead of time and secure
all necessary permits before beginning any work. We’ll also provide references from some of the many installations we’ve overseen during our 60+ years
When we’re ready to install your new furnace, we’ll cover the entire installation area with drop cloth to ensure a safe, clean work environment. We’ll
also confirm that the following important installation steps are completed:
- Placing the furnace filter in an easy-to-reach location so that you can easily change it, because maintaining a clean air filter is vital to a safe,
- Checking all electrical and gas connections to ensure a secure, tight fit
- Testing for carbon monoxide leaks
- Confirming optimal gas pressure
- Ensuring that your new furnace’s heat vents are obstruction-free
When we’re finished with the installation, the first thing we’ll do is perform a thorough cleanup so that the installation area is as clean (or cleaner)
than it was before your new furnace arrived. We’ll also discuss the importance of keeping debris, boxes, and other items away from your furnace, and
we’ll also talk about your furnace’s burner area and how its cleanliness directly affects energy efficiency.
There are plenty of other post-installation topics for discussion. For example, we’ll provide a full demonstration of how the furnace works, explain all
of its safety features, and then sit down with you to discuss the various furnace warranties available. And before we leave we’ll make sure you have
our contact information so that you can call us to talk about maintenance costs, emergencies, tips for getting the most out of your furnace, and more.
