Waterline Replacement
Repipe & Waterline Process
Our plumbers at Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating know that when we do a Repipe or Waterline Replacement the environment we are working in is your home, or workspace. We realize this is an inconvenience and don't treat your home or workspace like an unfinished construction site. So we take measures to protect your property and though we won't go unnoticed we hope to be as unobtrusive as we can while installing your new waterline or replacing piping in your home. We also recognize that this decision is not a minor expense and for us to do it means to do it right for a good, safe, long-lasting installation.
When a repipe or waterline for your home is being executed we use a Licensed Plumber. This is required by the State of Washington as well as pulling a permit. The types of permits required may vary depending on the scope of work being done and the specific requirements for the jurisdiction to where your home or business is located. In every case a permit is necessary as well as a Licensed Plumber executing the installation of a Repipe or Waterline. This practice allows you not to solely have to rely on the expertise of our Licensed Day & Nite Plumber but know that a city inspector will insure that our installation will meet or exceed code expectations.
Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating will provide an estimate of what the repipe or waterline will cost. Our estimates outline the scope of work and are written on a Proposal. This is so that when you decide to have our plumbers execute the work you don't need to worry about the price changing for the scope of work you have agreed on once our plumbers have started the work.
Depending on the size of your repipe or waterline replacement it may be necessary to execute over several days. Being without water during this period can be an issue. With Day & Nite Plumbing & Heating, our plumbers keep loss of water usage to a minimum. Often we are able to keep most or all fixtures in service during the repipe or waterline replacement and only have the water off during short periods of transition.
We take care to protect your property while we are working in your home. Our experienced plumbers plan piping routes to offer a quality install and help minimize opening walls and ceilings. We also take the time to secure the site, not leaving unprotected holes and cleaning up debris that may be created during the process of installation. Today many waterlines are great candidates to for using trenchless technology to bore a waterline. This can be cost effective, reduce time of installation, and keep excavation to a minimum.
Kitec Pipes
Kitec Pipes consist of an aluminum pipe layer sandwiched between two thick layers of polyethylene. In the 1990's Kitec became a popular alternative to cooper piping because of its inexpensive costs and simple installation. In 2005 Kitec pipes became the focus of a Class Action Lawsuit because of their tendency to begin leaking after only a couple of years.
If your home was built or re-piped in the 1990s you may be at risk for water damage from leaking Kitec plumbing. Though having your entire plumbing system repaired or replaced may seem and invasive and daunting task Day & Nite technicians do their best to make the process as painless as possible.
